Who killed Jenny Schecter on the L Word Series Finale? This psychotherapist and lesbian love coach has a theory…

Monday, March 9th, 2009

Well, hopefully, it’s a great Monday morning for you.  I know I’ve been going to bed earlier and sleeping better so, it feels good.  Did you watch the series finale of L Word last night?  I know you know I did!  Of course everyone is talking it up on social networks around the country this morning.  The main topic of discussion, of course is:

Who killed Jenny?  Why didn’t they tell us?

Here’s my theory on who killed Jenny:

First off, just like when you click at an online video of a story you FIRST have to suffer through a commercial break – what did you think of the final show? I enjoyed the ‘retrospective’ the hour before the finale myself more.  Overall…

Now, back to the L Word drama:  First off, are you frustrated that they didn’t ‘solve’ the mystery of Jenny’s death before the closing credits?  Of course you are, but that’s most likely because they are cleverly going to keep L Word alive now online.  They’ve teased us by directing us to now go online to their show site and watch more scenes of the interrogation of Jenny’s friends.

You’ll have to click the ‘read more’ link below to find out who I think killed Jenny….isn’t the suspense killing you…hahaha

More women coming out as lesbian in their 40′s and beyond

Saturday, March 7th, 2009

Seems the issue of ‘coming out’ later in life as a lesbian continues to be a hot topic in the media.  I received a couple of emails yesterday from people in my networks asking me whether I think ‘latehood lesbianism’ is increasing as a phenomenon and why I think that is.  The magazine More.com did a piece on the topic this month called

Over 40 and Over Men

Great title, btw.  But, seriously, it is no surprise to me that we are seeing an increase in women ‘becoming gay’ later in life.  Hey, I am buddies and live in the same town as the infamous Elaine Weber, who came out at 79!  Isn’t she amazing!?!

Now, most women who knew they were gay, like Elaine, lived in a time and place where it was very risky to come out.  The result became that they either never lived an ‘out’ life or, eventually did come out (at least to themselves, a partner and to other gay friends and allies) in early or mid adulthood.  Today, the situation is much more accepting for women to be who they are and/or explore their sexual orientation.  I’m sure Elaine, if she were in her 40′s today, would probably have ‘come out’ by now.

L Word Through the Eyes of a Love Coach: The Final Season, Episode 4

Saturday, February 14th, 2009

I know, I’ve been holding out on you this final L Word season.  Perhaps I’m just too upset to write about it.  I can’t believe the show is ending; as much as I sometimes lament the dramatics and surrealism of the characters on L Word, I have to admit it’s great having lesbian characters to look at and think about, isn’t it?

I’ve watched all of the shows aired so far this season, but I haven’t really found myself latching on to any one relationship story line or development yet.  Well, at least not until this past Sunday’s episode, number four in the eight episode final season.

The Jenny/Shane ‘clean out our closet’ scene was interesting.  Jenny knew exactly what she was doing in playing this ‘game’.  Didn’t you love how Shane just can’t part with one of Carmen’s shirts?

On the other hand, Alice and Tasha seem very ‘even keel’ and ‘domestic’ so far this season.  The scene with the therapist sucked, I thought.  What therapist tells his/her client they don’t belong together?  None of the one’s I know do (myself included).
