Just imagine what your love life CAN be

Wednesday, May 12th, 2010

Many times when talking with my singles clients, I hear them voice a lack of faith in their ability to attract a deeply satisfying, lasting relationship.  After all it does take patience to find Mz. Right.  Finding Mz. Right takes time, effort, and a willingness to accept rejection.  Finding YOUR Mz. Right takes guts.

And, often when talking to couples going through a difficult time, I sense a loss of belief in their love. It happens, probably to most couples at some point.  I know that doesn’t make it any easier to bear.  And, you shouldn’t bear it alone, without support.

I’m here to remind you to ‘keep the faith’.  If you’re single, just know that with the right focus, you can find her.  And, if you’re in a relationship, problems can often be solved or, even if they can’t be solved, they can still be dealt with, and often, without destroying all that you share.

So, today, in the spirit of hope, I give you Shania Twain’s amazing video ‘From this Moment on’.   Just take a few minutes to soak in the message, feeling how it feels to be this connected to love…

GOGO Productions – A new social group for lesbians in Central Florida!

Saturday, May 30th, 2009

As I’ve been saying quite often lately, there seems to be an accelerating number of lesbian groups, organizations and events happening in communities across America.  This is, of course, great news for lesbians seeking a social life, especially single lesbians.   I coach all my gals in my social club for lesbians, Lez Rendezvous, to get out there and attend at least one social event a week.  Two would be even better!

Just this past week, for example, I was talking with a single lesbian who had recently attended a lesbian camping weekend.  Here in Central Florida, the scene is no different.

For example, last month, while I was in Daytona Beach running my booth at Daytona’s Gay Pride Festival, the night before Pride I had an opportunity to finally meet Dee and the ‘Just Us’ gang, an established group of lesbians from the north east coast areas of Florida who meet for a variety of social gatherings.

And, in today’s post I want to highlight for you a brand new social group for lesbians that has come onto the scene in the Central Florida/Orlando, Florida area.  The group is called

GoGo Productions (Girlz of Greater Orlando)

and it was founded by an Orlando woman whose vision it is to:

“…create a friendly, relaxed atmosphere for womyn to mingle in and make new connections. It is my profound belief as owner moderator of this group that we always keep a positive environment and that we should support one another lift each other up, rather than tear each other down. There is no reason every day can not be Gay Days here in the Greater Orlando Area! All we need is You!!”

GoGo Productions has an active social calendar, with several events per month planned.  For example, tomorrow morning is their singles brunch and June includes events such as dinner and a movie, moonlight bowling and a coffee klatch, to name just a few.

If you’re a central Florida lesbian, you need to check out GoGo Productions.  No more excuses for not having something to do this month.  You can learn more about GoGo by clicking here.

What great events, groups or organizations in your town aren’t getting the attention they should?  What do you want other lesbians in your area to know about? Lesbian women all across America read Coach Sappho’s blog and want to know what to do with their social and recreational time, so, email me and let me know the scoop so I can spread the word.

Who knows…maybe that’s how we’ll get some new faces out to your next area event.  And, if you are single, perhaps that is how you’ll meet your soul mate!?!   ;-)

Thriving in today’s world as a single or coupled lesbian

Thursday, April 30th, 2009

I’ve been thinking a lot lately about the bottom line for lesbians…

What does it take to thrive in today’s world as a lesbian woman, single or coupled?

I define thrive as being able to be oneself enough in one’s life so that, if you are a lesbian, you celebrate your sexuality.  You don’t hide who you are.  And that authenticity extends to you and your life in general.

Thriving also means abilities to…

  • handle adversity, that is, deal with and rise above all of life and love’s challenges, as you encounter them (and you will)…
  • address dating and love relationship issues with skill and confidence (instead of avoidance, false bravado or destructive conflict)
  • prevent future problems as best as you can by the way you live (and love) today
  • actually become more authentic, loving and strong as a result of dealing with the challenges of being gay

If you are single, you have enough worth to take your time to get clear who you are and what you want, need and require in a love partnership and you only give your heart to another woman who also loves herself enough to be able to love another person, over time, with actions, and when it’s not just based on good feelings at that moment.

Coach Sappho launches ‘Lez Be Together’, a FREE, new community for lesbian couples

Thursday, March 26th, 2009

I’ve created and now launched a wonderful new community for couples who value deeply satisfying, lasting relationships called

Lez Be Together

We’ve been talking about it’s birth during meetings of Coach Sappho’s Couples Circle for months now and, I’ve finally gotten it together enough to put it out there.

Lez Be Together is free, all the way, and it’s for anyone who values deeply satisfying, lasting love relationships.  Lez Be Together also supports couples who recognize how improving one’s relationship with one’s romantic partner usually contains gems for helping us improve other important relationships in our lives, including parent-child relationships, sibling relationships, family relationships, work relationships, etc.

Lez Be Together has a boatload of online opportunities for you to celebrate your relationship, strike up discussions that enthrall you on the subject, connect with other like-minded couples who also want to create a great relationship and much, much more!

Simply said, I can’t wait for you to check it out.

Secrets to deeply satisfying, lasting lesbian love: BE a great partner

Tuesday, March 24th, 2009

As I talk with lesbian women from all over the world, we find it so much fun identifying together who they are and what they want.  The coaching exercises we do together to find out these juicy tidbits are often very liberating, especially for lesbians, because so many of us have held back so much of who we are from ‘the light of day’ for so long.

Some of my current and former clients only recently ‘came out of the closet’.  Some have even been married to a man for some length of time and are choosing to live a more authentic, ‘this is who I really am’ lesbian life for the first time.  And many others have identified, even rather openly, as lesbian for years but they…

  • haven’t experience a deeply satisfying and lasting relationship with another woman
  • they haven’t felt comfortable asking for what they want
  • or they haven’t been aware of what they want romantically, for various reasons, most likely due to the socialization (or lack thereof) women and lesbian women receive when it comes to love, dating and relationships.
